Resistance Climbing Dunedin
The Resistance Climbing Gym is the first commercial climbing wall to open in Dunedin.
Installation of this wall provided a special challenge for the Climb Craft team, as the gym is located on the first floor of a central city building, and was required to be completely self-supporting and separate from the existing structural elements of the building – an unusual engineering challenge!
The gym offers 400sqm of bouldering wall — designed to suit all climbing abilities with a wide variety of angles, from easy slabs to steep overhanging climbing.
We’re super happy with our new wall at Resistance Climbing, which Climb Craft designed and installed. The Climb Craft team quickly developed a concept and worked closely with us to answer questions and make the adjustments we wanted to colour and shape. They were able to maximise the use of our space and create complex and interesting climbing terrain, even within the constraints of a 100+ year old building. We were impressed with the efficiency of the installation and quality of their workmanship, plus the team were great to deal with. The result is an excellent modern climbing facility that’s been popular from day one and excited new climbers are coming in daily.
